Vaccination – Both Protection and Blockage
The psychological significance of the most important vaccinations
One of the most explosive topics of modern times is that of vaccinations. Supporters wage advertising campaigns in its behalf – opponents raise bitter protest or work to procure compensation for those suffering damage from vaccinations. The actual principles of illness and the process of vaccination are, however, rarely touched upon. Were the pros and cons of vaccination generally known, parents would have the basis for a responsible decision on whether or not to vaccinate themselves or their children.
The current thought of modern medicine on vaccination has been generally accepted as valid: illness comes from external causes such as viruses, bacteria and other pathogens and must be fought off in an appropriate manner. In most cases this is done by a form of treatment that seeks to kill off the invaders.
As a precaution against any sort of “infection” taking place, vaccinations are used as a prophylaxis against the many so-called epidemics or scourges of mankind. More than 200 years ago this method was developed and employed at the time of the smallpox epidemic to some degree of success.
Edward Jenner (1796) developed a vaccine from the cowpox. The idea seemed logical. Before contracting the disease so severely that I might die from it, would it not be better to just let it smolder within me even if for a lifetime? The person who has not been vaccinated can get the disease – the one who is vaccinated already has it!
Reviewing the matter, the question must be asked whether or not the person being vaccinated is even able to tolerate the animal component of the vaccine?
The smallpox vaccine is derived from cows.
The tetanus vaccine is usually derived from horses.
Other vaccines are derived from monkeys, pigs, chicken protein, etc.
Finally, let's take a look at the greatest suffering of mankind today, the numerous types of allergies, of which is known that they stem from intolerance to various protein substances. When we consider that people have been receiving vaccinations for over 200 years and this means more than two centuries of genetic inheritance, then it can be seen that while the first generation of vaccinated people were able to cope with this intrusive wave of foreign substances, people of today have been swept away.
At no other time have children been more often ill than today. The mortality rate has declined as chronic illnesses flourish. It seems we now enjoy a longer life, but enjoy it less.
It remains a fact that, because in the first generation of vaccinations the success was so overwhelming, today we continue on without any real reflection on the consequences. Based on studies made since the beginning of this century, we must conclude that we are in the midst of a real “boom” in vaccinations with no end in sight. This fact alone makes any serious studies of the problem nearly impossible with most everyone being already vaccinated or carrying the genetic results of vaccination.
Turning to a holistic approach, we learn that illness comes from within, from the inner being of man himself. Every symptom is an expression of repressed conflict no longer existing on a conscious level.
Only when a person is one with himself, with his deeds and his intuitive goals, only when his…
- inner voice,
- life's calling,
- personality and
- natural authority
are in agreement, does he no longer need give his internal conflict an external expression. Then he is HEALTHY!
This is not an attempt to wage battle at all costs against the foe. Rather, it is a call to each of us to feel responsible for ourselves, to recognize illness as a process for which we and we alone are responsible. This is the more difficult path.
For most people it is an extremely important step to acknowledge the principle of self-responsibility at work even in group illnesses such as an epidemic. Nonetheless, group fate has existed in every age. Groups, which have formed out of the principle “Together We Stand,” also draw to themselves the same fate; they carry the same predisposition.
Each of us carry with us our own milieu, which prepares a special medium for cultivation not unlike the agar in a petri dish, and it is we ourselves that give the viruses and bacteria the chance to colonize – or not to do so. We are the ones who invite pathogens for a particular illness into our house without being the least bit conscious of doing so.
Ruediger Dahlke expresses this theme in his book “Krankheit als Symbol” [Illness as Symbolic Process] on p. 196 in the following way: “ Catching a cold, not the coldness itself makes us sick. We do the catching. We gather to us the pathogens that we need to bring our drama to the stage.
That which we exclude from our conscious mind, perhaps because our education or moral background does not allow it, we invite in as a guest so that we have an alibi for ourselves and our surroundings to integrate it later. There is a good reason for this acting out of unconscious motives or needs, the expression of which we do not freely permit. Modern society looks down upon the perpetrator, but as a victim of evil bacteria one gains the attention of those around in an acceptable manner. For many, suffering is even a pathway to heaven.
Can we slowly adjust to the “nasty” idea that we ourselves produce our suffering? Everyone has at first some difficulty to take hold of themselves and become responsible for their own life. Yet with some practice, this thought becomes ever easier to grasp. It wasn't God that sent us into an exile of suffering. We did it ourselves! And we have it within our power to feel the joy of living consciously and in full health.
An illness develops out of man himself, out of the field of conflict between his own individuality and the way he lives. First then, when he no longer lives in a manner appropriate to his own inner being, does his bodily milieu allow a guest to enter that is capable of producing damage in the body leading to illness. Every symptom of illness so produced speaks a clear language. This fact allows us to see illness as the initiation of a process of growing self-awareness. It is relatively easy to understand this body language of illness. It can be compared to learning a foreign language. Every organ and every substance has its specific meaning allowing us to “translate” the illness symptom. In this manner it is possible to learn to grasp, translate and understand unconscious processes that are at work within us.
Let's be really clear on what happens when you are vaccinated: Something external is injected into us. A person allows or requests even that he be infiltrated with an artificially produced illness – and with additional information peculiar to the animal from which the vaccine was made. Let's look more in depth at an example: the tetanus vaccination of which is generally recommended that it be refreshed periodically.

From the viewpoint of modern allopathic medicine, vaccination is the only certain method of countering tetanus.
Etiopathology
Let us follow the precise course of the tetanus disease:
Definition: |
= An acute infectious disease due to the toxin of the tetanus bacillus. Serious acute toxication of the central nervous system that leads to a state of more or less persistent painful tonic spasm of some of the voluntary muscles. |
Symptoms: |
It takes about four days to four weeks, depending upon the amount of bacilli that have entered the skin wound, until the patient feels stiffness in the area of the infection and pain in the upper abdomen as a result of spasm of the diaphragm. |
|
The rigidity of the muscles and the tonic clonic spasms then appear which are the leading symptoms of the disease. |
|
The muscles of the face contract producing a wild excited expression, a compound of bitter grinning and crying (risus sardonicus). |
|
The picture is completed by stiffness of the neck and back, total rigidity of the abdominal wall, and spasmodic movement of the arms or rigid extension of the legs. |
|
Opisthotonos. |
|
Urinary retention and defecation often impossible. |
|
The smallest sensations of light or noise produce painful attacks of muscle spasms that often last for several minutes. |
Prognosis: |
›› Persons who survive the first five days have a good chance of recovery. |
|
›› The course of the illness generally lasts six to eight weeks. |
|
›› Survivors of tetanus have only a temporary immunity to the disease. |
Symbolic Significance
The psychological meaning of the key symptoms of tetanus:
skin wound |
= an inner wound wants to become visible externally so that the urgency of dealing with it is apparent. |
pain in the upper abdomen |
= essential things are not being attended to and as a result no new information (the ingestion of nutrients = ingestion of information) can be digested (taken in and processed). |
spasms of the diaphragm |
= emotions and thoughts are not in sync with each other. The diaphragm as executing organ is no longer receiving coherent commands and blocks completely. |
tonic spasms |
= only a specific, very precisely defined goal is followed. Other possibilities are no longer allowed and everything is done to reach this one goal. |
grinning-crying facial expression |
= paradoxical condition: fear is represented by attempted smiling in order not to show his feelings which would open him to attacks. |
stiffness of the neck |
= located in the neck is the center for tenderness which, because of trauma, does not now permit any feelings to enter. Any tender emotions are obstinately suppressed. |
impossible urination and defecation |
= emotional burdens are not released. The fear of new wounds is stronger than the urge to free oneself emotionally. |
smallest sensations of light cause painful attacks of muscle cramps |
= light stands for consciousness which here, however, is being forcefully directed in one particular direction. At the same time the patient is punishing himself because the necessity for conscious perception is being denied. |
opisthotonos |
= rearing up obstinately against sorrow and violence in order not to admit one's own weakness. |
The imaginative picture slowly emerges – a person who feels himself deeply wounded and tortured, but who can only react to this with a mask of laughter to hide his hurt. This person cannot let go. He is sullen and obstinate and cannot open himself to other people. The joy of life is completely gone.
Tetanus |
= the drive within a person to achieve for himself and his own life his own set ideas and needs regardless of any opposition and to the exclusion of any show of weakness. |
The Consequences of Vaccination
Once the disease substance is injected into a person, a smoldering process of illness is created. You are forced to deal with the tetanus issue with no way to escape from it. This person's natural impulse will always be to conceal all weaknesses while fighting to the bitter end.
Intuition and serenity are left behind.
A child who has just been vaccinated often exhibits the following symptoms as a direct result of the vaccination:
Fever (= suppressed anger).
Often there are fever cramps (= stuck in the suppressed anger).
Open aggression once the child has achieved stability.
The homeopathic approach:
The example of tetanus shows us clearly that an illness is concerned with particular issues. Observation tells us that the issues connected with vaccinations tend to remain fixed an entire life long so that one adheres to a particular pattern of behavior. This becomes especially evident when certain groups of symptoms of the illness for which one was vaccinated come to light again and again in expressions of chronic illness.
For example, many people suffer from a stiff neck, a symptom of tetanus as well as of tuberculosis and rabies. The homeopathic treatment with Stramonium or Nux vomica usually brings these people some temporary relief.
A sharply observant homeopath, however, may notice that, contrary to the patient's normal reaction to homeopathic remedies, symptoms return again and again, each time more conspicuously. Unfortunately in this case, Stramonium or Nux vomica cannot help anymore. Only a vaccination detoxification with the homeopathically prepared vaccine (= vaccine nosode) can open the door for the single remedies, which had always done their duty before, to become effective again – and this time they will work very deeply.
If the stiffness of the neck recurs after the patient has been free of it for years, it may be that the detoxification process must be repeated one more time. This time the vaccine nosode and the single remedy are given together.
Years of experience with vaccination detoxification has led to the recognition of the phenomenon of vaccination blockage: Every vaccination must be seen as a blockage which will make itself more or less apparent according to the stability of the patient's life force.
The most pleasant success of vaccination detoxification is when someone is able to free him or herself from the rigid pattern of behavior mentioned above. The issues that have been addressed up to this point, both homeopathically and psychotherapeutically, suddenly become accessible to the patient in new ways. This finally gives him the chance to creatively live out his needs and potentials unencumbered by the straightjacket of a vaccination blockage.
If you think of the fact that since recently our children are given a multiple vaccination containing five different vaccines, that is they are pressed into five different behavioral patterns at the same time, you can understand the confusion and resignation often found in highly gifted children.
As we have shown explicitly for tetanus, other vaccination issues have also been worked out in detail. Further examples in this amount of detail would require more than the space of this article and could be better dealt with in the setting of a seminar. The meanings of the most important vaccination issues are listed below.
The psychological significance of the most important vaccinations:
BCG or tuberculosis
(equivalent to a tuberculin test) |
= the urge to idealize a borrowed concept into being right rather than to think things through for oneself. An impulse to flee from a reality that is experienced as hard lies behind this. Resignation instead of assuming responsibility even in the face of possible obstacles. |
diphtheria |
= unable to express his needs and his personal desires; there is a massive problem in communication with those around him, because this person does not trust himself to even express his needs to others. |
FSME (ticks) |
= lets himself be “sucked dry” without complaint until he is paralyzed and helpless. |
measles |
= the urge to go by what others do; would actually rather help others whenever possible, than even consider taking responsibility for herself. |
mumps |
= asserts himself in order to demonstrate or develop the personality; the process of individualization is still restricted and there is no clear decision on behalf of one's own needs. |
pertussis |
= the urge to make one's own person “noticeable” and wanting to feel accepted as an individual; feels alone against the crowd and fights against it; lacks trust in his own abilities. |
smallpox |
= great expectation of becoming afraid, especially the fear of violence. Every situation is seen as an attack on his person and as ominous for himself from the very beginning. Sees no hope for his future or the fulfillment of his desires, does not count on even once experiencing a positive result. |
polio |
›› the urge to forcefully attract attention to oneself through exhibiting weaknesses; in the role of the victim he finds the attention and security that he cannot ask for verbally; refuses self-responsibility and would rather let himself be served from front to back; no love of self. |
rubella |
›› the urge to become more decisive; the inner voice is not perceived; a great uncertainty underlies the question as to whether he is allowed to take a position on matters; those around him make decisions without asking him and he submits to them. |
In the treatment of every vaccination there is the vaccine nosode on the one hand and the accompanying single remedy, which is different with each vaccination, on the other. I strongly advise against using the vaccine nosode or even the nosode of the disease alone, for example, in place of the vaccination because the nosode (= illness agent) will only excite an issue that is already there and just waiting to be activated.
It is important to give the proper single remedy along with the nosode in order to handle the process that the nosode activates. Experience has shown that for tetanus Stramonium or Nux vomica are the preferred remedies.
The psychological significance of:
Stramonium
= Uncontrolled anger out of panic. The pressure of a long held stress releases itself externally in anger, but internally as a deep depression.
Nux vomica
= Creates distractions through overactivity so that the really deep feelings will not be discovered.
Both of these homeopathic remedies are well suited to the issues of tetanus and differ mainly in the intensity of the condition they are addressing.
After a dose of the tetanus nosode + Stramonium the patient is immediately relieved. Either his anger along with his irritability or his depression and inner restlessness disappears. A reaction comes within a few minutes – the higher the potency of the remedy, the more spontaneous the effect.
For every vaccination reaction we have experiential correlations to matching single remedies. In this form of vaccination detoxification the added ingredients such as aluminum and mercury, etc. are also taken into consideration.
It is astounding that with the multiple vaccinations such as measles-mumps-rubella or diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis that the psychological significance of the separate vaccines shows related issues. It seems they have not just been thrown together. Because each issue must not only be seen negatively, but positively as well, so that the deeper meaning, the true content of the issue can be understood, allow me a few philosophical thoughts on the matter at the close of this article.
Since the beginning of vaccinations (1796) until today, people in our society have gone through an incredibly rapid development. A lot has happened to bring us into the technological age. Whereas in earlier times one could observe a linear, one-sided development, today numerous issue seem to be interconnected causing a very rapid acceleration. Unfortunately, this development is not always directed towards the betterment of mankind, but supports the greed of a few. A rapid development that is not favorable to mankind as a whole leads to destruction. It is possible to think that vaccinations, which offer the possibility of or even force the interconnecting of the various issues, are thereby substantial contributors to this leap in our development.
By dissolving the oppression of the behavioral patterns with the help of vaccination detoxification, a step towards positive support of the general wellbeing of mankind is taken. When behavioral patterns become compulsive, only logical responses to situations are permitted leading to the egocentricity of a few and the suppression of many.
Only by allowing associative thought structures in synergy with the free development of the personality in the sense of self-responsibility can the necessary quantum leap that creates true peace be made possible.
